If I dropped dead, if it was my time To leave this earth and all behind To venture on to a land of new Would I be ready? I don't have a clue! My world possessions don't amount to a lot But I'm awfully proud of the things I've got When I'm gone will they get packed away For my daughter to remember me by some day? What will she think when she stumbles across All those old books that I couldn't toss? Will she understand the joy of word Reading of new places and things unheard? Will she think her Mother had lost her mind For writing all the poems that she'll find Written on paper, box tops and more Stored away in places she's never looked before? Her mom isn't a neat freak, just of the simple belief That things left scattered don't cause any grief Unless you don't understand the system at hand You have to love poetry to completely understand! After I left this world behind, "maybe to get my wings"? My daughter will find part of me amongst my earthly things I leave behind all that I ever thought, felt and cried Maybe it wasn't the best, but Lord knows I certainly tried! When she finds those books of poems, she'll think you left behind for her the most precious gift anyone ever could...a part of yourself |

If I dropped dead, Budweiser Beer, Would be in the red, In less than a year. Cops would be layed off, And some judges might too, And there'd be one more room, At the P.I.P. 'stute! Seriously though Deb...nice poem....well done.....well thought out... |

I know it's all been said before But what you leave she'll adore Even scraps left on the floor She'll look around and still want more ) Well done. |

Deb, these are true thoughts. I think we all wonder what our children will think of us when we're gone....from what I know of you, your daughter will be proud to have had you as her mom |

This is great! It is amazing where or what us poets will write on to make sure we don't lose a golden thought. Which is what she will find and what it will be worth to her. |
