The Way We Go

I love the way you look at me,
I glow when you take me away
To an undiscovered, wonderful place
Where the rainbows have a gold-lining,
For their rarity shames the sky
And the clouds swimming in it.
We can fly through the barren lands,
Where the trees are shaken and cold.
But as we pass them and look back,
They're full of cherry blossoms,
And dripping with sweet tears of abandonment.
We shrug and turn away
To the rose colored sunset
That contains our dreams which
Will never be reached.
So now we go to the midnite sky
Where the darkness envelopes our dreams,
And turns them into bittersweet nightmares
Of everything we fear in this world,
The death of anything, good or bad,
That will never return to grow old,
For we are the tragic lilacs, unwilling
To be truly seen in the harsh sun, so we lurk,
And we lurk,
Lurk until we find true love with depth
Together.
