I fear the night, (Dreams of the Raven Haired Girl) ----------------------------------------- I fear the night, not the darkness, not the shadows that run from the moonbeams, searching light but the evil of the moments, of their eternity that creeping hand of time, extending, unrelenting. I fear the night Not the Quiet, Not the stillness. that should bring me the comfort Of my security, of my sleep. But the thoughts, of the Raven, of the kiss the Raging dreams, of her passion of her eyes, of her love I fear the night, not its coming, not its going, the wish for love, for dreams, for Romance, But the unknowing, of her distance, of her absence that she may never really be, in my arms, as I dream, in the night. Another great poem, James! Very nice! Denise And slight is the sting of his trouble Whose winnings are less than his worth; For he who is honest is noble, Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~ |

You've uncovered some hidden secrets I think many in here can relate to...our fears. This was outstanding! I really like your style of writing....it just flows and flows. I think you dug deep for these thoughts you shared here. Thank you .... ** I'm reaching for the brightest star I've ever seen - knock my ladder out from under me, and you'll wish you hadn't !! -pFF ** Here's to 2000! |
