I Miss You

I miss you more than words can express.
I long for you to be here with me.
We could relive the past together,
And all the memories we will hold to forever.

I remember when I was just a little girl.
You would hold me in your arms.
I would climb into your lap, and
You would read to me before I took my nap.

You held me and comforted me.
You calmed me when I cried.
You were always there to love me.
But then you got sick and died.

I was there the day before you left me.
You were sick and sad,
But when I entered your room, you brightened.
And I stayed with you as long as I could.

Together, we reminisced about our past together.
However, our memories quickly faded away.
Because the next day I was conscious of the fact,
That you had left me all alone.

I never thought we would be apart.
I thought nothing could divide us.
But I looked over the most obvious.
Something I cannot ever forget.

But I forgive you, I’ve never been mad.
And I will always remember you,
Because of the special bond we shared.
And the memories we have to remember.

Death took you from me, now to Heaven you’ll go.
And here I will stay until I come to you at last.
So please wait for me, I will see you someday.
And when I come Home, we will be together at last.

"And the memories we have to remember".  I like that line because it has meaning for me.   I enjoyed your peom! It was a good expression of an emotion that many of us feel when we lose someone special.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank goodness for memories....and you're very lucky you got to share those last moments together....some aren't able to do so.  This person will always be alive in your heart, as long as you hold those memories dear.  Beautiful poem....

Thankyou all. I am very glad I have a few memories to hold onto. However, there's not many because I was only 8 when she died.
It was my great grand mother that died. Although it was years ago, I have been thinking of her a lot lately and have been missing her greatly.
