Drying Your Tears

Tear drops fall from your blue eyes
and my heart stops a beat at their sight.
I pull you close to me,
try to take the pain from you,
make it my own.
My cheek lays against yours
and your tears burn my face
as I whisper,
"Darling, it will be all right."

My tears blend with your own,
your pain now mine,
and our tears become one
as they fall in rivers on the sheets.

I dry your tears with kisses,
soft upon your face,
shelter you from pain
in the recesses of my love.
Our bed becomes a chalice
and we drink in each others sorrow
finding salvation in each others arms;
pain washed away giving rise to passion
till we forget there ever were tears.

David...for each tear that falls, I will be there to dry them.
Hugs
Ruth

As I stand before you I find my words can not speak the meaning of my heart.....or my soul.  Struck in awe of all that you are.  I stand here helpless in surrender to you Ruth.  My tears fall and with your great grace they become crystals upon the sheets of my days.......and there in the light of it all...Dances the reflection of you on each and every one..  Thank you Ruth.  I love you.< !signature-->

Hoot, you're such an artist when it comes to these love poems. I always know that they are going to be a joy to read even before I start reading them. Great poem!

Well done Ruth

Ruth, you never cease to amaze me!  This poem says so much...such emotion!     Beautiful work.

Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

Ruth-

I think Y2K must mean
YOU  2  KINDLE

What a 'bug' to have bitten twice !

My accolades on the depth of this poem
and the depth of your love.
My goodness, it isn't even spring ... but look what has blossomed !

Much happiness to you both.

So lovely, hoot.  It does indeed seem that a lot of us around here have that dreamy look in our eyes and are floating among the clouds, eh?  Beautiful work.
