Black , this 'cursed pall en-shrouds
Each waking moment time allows
Nascent hopes once visualized
O'er shadowed hide from wanting eyes

Trust , that beacon of my sight
Absents itself search though I might
Familiar comforts embraced with zeal
Retain but faintly their appeal

A constant inner spiral reigns
Insipidly my will it drains
Detachment can't this force allay
For these are now the darker days

O'er all endeavors I feel their pull
Restricting life that once was full
In doubt's abyss I cast my voice
Was there ever any choice

Instinct answers quietly
Lost is that which cannot be
Lest you would join it follow me
Go forth , this battle's not for thee

Understanding that , which must be done
Inflicts less pain on everyone
Don't linger here or all is lost
Each must pay a different cost

The stand you take determines yours
Health of mind for now endures
Even in this darkest time
E'er I'll guide thee , child of mine .

Dr,
Well if you take your own advise all will be well. A strong poem with good paint, I enjoyed the read. Sy

'Be not afraid for I will guide thee'

The best antidote for fear that there is!
Excellent poem, Dr. Moose! Nice to see you back again!!

I know about dark days, and have learned that if you concentrate on the everyday survival of the body, and caring for those around you, the psycological stress takes care of itself, and the spirit learns on its own
I enjoyed reading this

d,You do have an eye for the acrostic , good to hear from you too !
Justbleu,
Glad you liked , sorry if I don't comment as much as I should , I blame it on AOL for dropping me !
Echo,
Thanks for the encouragement , we can all use some .
Nan,
Where would I be with out you ? The mind boggles !!!
E. Santos,
Faint praise from you is as a new brush to a fellow painter.
Thank you all ,in darkest days we can all use alittle moral support , and I couldn't think of a better place to find it !

Dr. Moose 1-

I can truly say that not only
was the acrostic a pleasant reminder
of the help we find ... but this line
was worth the discovery of a look
at a new awakening within you-

'Nascent hopes once visualized'

Absolutely lovely and uplifting.
