To A Poet Who Has No Style

No style defines you.

Each entry
Into your poetic world
Is venture into unknown,
The only constant you offer
Is unsurpassed excellence.

With whatever subject
Or format that finds favor,
You push the boundaries of best
To ever greater heights.

Your words give
A box of fine chocolates
With no bad fillings.
Each taste is mystery
That melts into delight.

With mercurial magnificence
You insure excitement,
Interest in your work
Can never falter.

Each poem is pure pleasure
And centuries from now
You’ll still be leaving readers
Amazed, awestruck.

You have no predictable style
Beyond peerless perfection.

Ya spoiled my plans, dang it! How will I ever crawl into that hole, with my head swelled up so big???

I thought this birthday was going to be pretty drab compared to some others I can remember, but it's turning happy already -- and yes...this is what's doing it, and the cheerful wishes from a bunch of friends. So thank you, dear lady -- you saved the day!
