Purgatorial Incarceration

0 posted 2006-01-16 05:19 PM

My brother, after over 1-1/2 years in Iraq (Baghdad, for most of it) is once again on American soil, having survived physically whole and healthy, even though, sadly, over 40 of his fellow soldiers did not.

From here, he has a little time at home before going on to flight school. For now, though, he is safe.

Just thought I'd bring some good news into the day and take a moment to say a silent thanks for those who gave their time and those who gave their lives in the name of Democracy.

I can feel your pride and excitement Christopher and rightly so.  Thank you for sharing that with us.  I too am glad he is safe, and wish him well at flight school.  May God bless him always for being over there, and I hope he is enjoying his new nephew's antics?

Christopher, thank you for this wonderful news.  Although my husband, who is a member here, never comments, and at the moment is sick in bed with the flu, well, I know he would say, "give him a salute for me!" and I would extrapolate so much so to say, "make it a double".

Thank him for all of us who value our military men and women.

Christopher,
Thank you for the opportunity to express my gratitude to the incredible men and women who sacrifice on our behalf. Incredible.

Thanks all, for your support and good wishes. I'll tell you, it was interesting in the least to see the look on my mom's face as my brother's company commander was listing off some of their... more dangerous missions. For some reason, based on her expression, I got the feeling he hadn't been completely up front with her about his activities while over there.

Afterwards, while we were at home talking about it, she said she was fine with that.

That is indeed great news! Sorry that I was so late in reading and replying to it!

I can only imagine how truly joyful you all must be and how achingly painful and worrisome it must have been for you while he was in danger's way.

Your brother's home ~ safe and sound! Glory be! I am so happy for you all!

I hope all goes well with his flight schooling!

God bless the troops! ~ and those who perished in the line of duty.

Give your brother a hug for me ~ and keep one yourself!

Love, Light, Peace & Harmony,
Linda
