I am so blessed. I have a warm, happy home complete with roommates that respect and support me (and two fabulous dogs). I love my current job; it gives me enough money to survive yet allows for tons of free time. My collection of friends is astounding: I am surrounded by a cluster of the most amazing people I’ve ever known, ever met, and they choose to share a very significant portion of their lives with me... This past year has been tremendously hard with many excruciatingly valuable lessons to learn -- and I survived! I am happy with myself and my possible directions. So much opportunity lies before me... and so many rich experiences are settled behind me. Why, even the weather lately has been beautiful... I have a tremendous life and so much for which to be joyful... and I wanted to express that. ![]() So... What in your life makes YOU feel blessed? Besides people who know me and love me anyway, there are a lot of simple moments. The way my dog sneaks in to sleep with me, curled up behind my knees, when she thinks I'm sleeping too heavily to notice. When I'm sick, my daughter puts her "sylvester" slippers on my feet, and makes me soup, and actually stands guard, telling the rest of the crew to "leave mom alone today!" And my son, has grown big and strong, and won't let me lift anything heavy (I've got a couple of "moving" bones in my back) and cuts the grass without complaint. A special friend who calls me every morning when I wake, and every night to wish me "sweet dreams." I don't have to work. (Big one, that. ![]() My back yard is a park. Literally. Filled with very old cypress trees, complete with moss. (Beautiful at sunset.) Generous and loving neighbors. Brothers who actually seem interested in what I have to say. Sisters who are actually concerned about how I feel. And did I mention my friends, who know me and love me anyway? ![]() |

I feel blessed to know serenity and love her anyway ![]() I feel blessed that my son and daughter are such amazing, strong, kind, people, and are my best friends even tho its not cool for your mom to be that. *L* I feel blessed that I rediscovered poetry after years of not writing, and that blessing comes from the gift of "being loved by a butterfly" I am gratefully blessed by the special friendships found here in the sharing of our words. I am grateful for phone cards ![]() And grateful for inspiration. and last but never least...sunrise, sunsets, the moon, the stars ......... |

Ah Elizabeth, you and Whoever's In Charge must be working together, cuz I swear I've been getting the message lately that I should be focusing on the stuff that is good. That being said, here is my long list: I am blessed because ...I have a beautiful family full of people who always go out of their way for me despite their own trials. ...I have a beautiful baby girl who is complete sunshine, and who is healthy and happy. ... I have a second baby full of life, and ready to join us here in a week or so. ...because I have a roof over my head and food in my stomach, I have a car to drive and a job to drive it to. ...I have eyes and ears that function so I can see and hear all the wonderful things in this world, and because the rest of my body is also whole. ...I have a wonderful angel and friend in my ex's mother, who watches my daughter and in her unbiased way helps me survive day to day. ...I did not grow up in war or poverty, without education, or in an opressive society--I live in the good ol USA. ...I have had the opportunity to know love with my daughter's daddy. ...I woke up this morning. ...I have had countless run-ins with various other angels in my lifetime, from my gram to a lady at the bank who told me it would all be okay, to some PIP-people, to friends who have come and gone. Okay, thats all for now, but I might be back. |

I am blessed to have a wonderful daughter: who is sometimes aware of her God given talents, who can almost always make me smile, who I felt safe taking to a public high school this morning. ( how many schools can you say that about these days?) I am blessed to have it be my turn to take my mother to the doctor today. I am blessed to have the only career I ever wanted. I am blessed to know a place where people like you will read what I write with both a critical eye and a warm heart... ...and who ask questions like these There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

Here we go again ![]() Novel commences... Well, the thing that I'm most aware of at the moment, are my amazing friends. I don't mean 'amazing' in the general sense, whereby you just happen to label the people you associate with as such because they're there for you. My friends truly are amazing: creative (one's just finished a book, getting ready to give it to an agent yay!), talented, intelligent, strong, sincere people. What did I do to find these people? It's humbling...having said what I did above, these people are here for me as well..loving, supportive and non-judgmental, even when I sometimes do things that seem to defy any rational explanation... I live in the safest country on earth...no bordering countries, no wars...in winter I can often wear short sleeves, and it's green all year round mostly. In around 30-60 minutes I can get to over twenty black or white sand beaches. There is an aura of peace right within the city centre...(not to mention the fact that Auckland is situated on tonnes (50 or so) of extinct (here's hoping) volcanoes..some large, some small, some underground...makes for nice large hills everywhere, great views..beautiful place - I'm blessed by my home, I really am. I even get to live in Middle Earth (parallel universe) which means that I get to be close to LEGOLAS ~drool~ I will find him soon, I will. I'm blessed by my mind: it roams all over the place, questioning everything - giving me headaches on a regular basis true lol. I learn constantly, from the inane, to the trivial, to the expansive, and strenghening things we all have to learn... I know how to love, truly and without reserve. This is something I believe we learn, and in many different forms of relationship. It's a definite blessing... Oh, and I have a cute widdle kitty...so, she wakes me up TOO early and decides to play...what's a little lost sleep for the price of a purr? ![]() [This message has been edited by Severn (02-22-2002 03:29 PM).] |

okokok i'll be moderately well behaved for a moment... my blessings... i have a few very amazing friends whose strength, love, and ability to fogive sustains me even through those days where i would much rather crawl in a hole than leave the house. i have companionship both mentally and emotionally from two very amazing people who just plain put up with me (that's a blessing in and of itself). i have a decent job that pays the bills while i write out my future. i have the ability to write, to create new ideas and worlds, thoughts and emotions, and i enjoy using it. i have a really nice apartment all to myself, (which is usually good) and a truck to drive, money to put gas in it, and often a place to take it. i've been blessed with the desire and ability to read, to explore the thoughts of others and to immerse myself in their imaginations. i have been blessed with adversity and conflict, whic allows me to grow. i have been blessed with a beautiful face... uhmm.. and humility to go along with it. (sorry, it's sooooo hard to behave) and, i'm blessed with you ocean princess... without you, my life would be less (i didn't say challenging, you thought it) ![]() C |

That there is a really cool site *cough* *cough* that allows me to post my feelings and poetry without shooting it down or telling me that I have to talk (I HATE talking.) I give a whole new meaning to the word 'sad.' |

My son and our close and special, loving bond. He's incredibly smart and makes me feel quite foolish with his amazing intellect. LOL I'm blessed to be creative and be able to draw, paint and sculpt, bless others with my creavity and the loveliness I able to show to them. I have many, many friends that always support me, love me, no matter my mood. They fell blessed that I would call them friend, but I feel so much more blessed that they would allow me to share part of their lives. They're are truly wonderful people that I've learned a great deal from and hope to learn more and more to help me grow in who I one day hope to be. I live at the ocean, yet another blessing, because I've wanted to do so since I was a child. Each day I watch sea birds, the sun setting on the coastal waters, the incoming ocean breeze, the Spanish moss hanging on the old oaks. Like a child, I am still in awe of the ocean and like a child, I still collect shells, those treasures that the ocean so freely gives. I'm blessed to have a sensitive heart and a kind and gentle spirit that knows no hate, but is always very accepting of others. I have a roof over my head, bills paid, icy cold and fresh well water to drink and cook with. I could go on and on. I'm blessed to wake up each day, knowing that something in the day will cause me to smile, knowing that I will see something of beauty that I've never noticed before and will be able to add it to my ongoing collection of lovely images I store within my mind to help bring me peace when peace is hard to come by. I feel very truly blessed. Thanks, Elizabeth, for allowing me to share. ![]() Michael Auguste~ |

I have so much to be thankful for... My wonderful parents, because without them, I don't think I would be the person I am today. My sister, because even though there were times when we were kids we didn't get along, we've sorted out our differences, and she has given me the most enchanting nephew a girl could ask for. I'm grateful to be given an opportunity to further myself and my education at university. I'm very grateful to the internet, surprisingly enough, which has allowed me to stay in contact with people I otherwise wouldn't see often, and to meet people like you guys! I'm grateful to have a roof over my head, food in my tummy and money in my wallet when there are people in Australia and of course the rest of the world, that don't. And of course I'm grateful to have my boyfriend and our wonderful years together. Bec ![]() "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. Th ability to write and reach out to people through my verses. A wonderful job working for the most wonderful boss I have ever had. My family: I am so glad that I have such honest people in my life. I'm surrounded by the best kind of encouragement, not the coddling placating gestures usually given, but the statements people are usually afraid to make, that throw the sitaution back in your face and demand, "You're better than that. Don't do this to yourself anymore. Get over it." And if I want to cry, I can do that too. ![]() Today I'm grateful for blunt, caring people who can't keep their mouths shut lol... Love you. My thanks. ![]() |

Hmmm ... good things, huh? The feeling you get when you finish a book, close it on your chest, close yr eyes and just breathe for a few. Feeding the stray kitten next door. The smell of hot soap. Having bizarre conversations with my friend Mike, which usually signals I'll be driving down to Santa Monica that weekend to visit him. When you're stuck in traffic, still having plenty of scenery around. (California rocks that way) Having always lived somewhere near an ocean (though that will change -- and that's fine, too). Sipping tea and eating a late night snack with jarre while she smokes and we just talk. Writing something. Music, whether played or heard. Playing with the dogs, Carson and Rudi. Singing to Lori over the phone, and hearing her sing back. Hope. And faith. She said burn ... together. |

I wanted to say something witty about this being the first time anyone has ever thanked me for being blunt and not being able to shut my mouth - lol - but, *sigh*, all I can do is sit here and grin and shake my head. In SID, we have official days of wallowing and self-empowerment. ![]() I should be thanking you for helping me to learn how to be a more understanding/caring/softer, less cranky/bitchy/unfeeling person. But don't tell Dave, cause then the laundry will never get done again. muahaha |

Good things. ![]() Playing with my ferret, as she mistakes my feet for just stuffed things covered with socks and tries ot massacre them, until I take my socks off and she instantly forgets she was ever after my feet. ![]() Talking with Mike about anything, especially music, and the cute li'l bickers we get into. ![]() Singing so loud, the neighbours get annoyed! Now THAT is awesome. Especially when it's operatic, and the neighbourhood children start screaming "SHUT UP!" Ah, just revenge for their playing of the Backstreet Boys at insane levels at obscene times. Finishing *writing* a novel. Sure, I don't do this often, but it's the most amazingly *right* feeling ever. Mike in general. ![]() Um... Stuff, I guess. written in blood before everything went black |

Nic, we're even... no one's ever thanked me for being a sap before. ![]() cranky I'll give you (heh), but unfeeling? pah. right. like you could see anybody sitting in your kitchen crying and just walk by indifferent... I'm seen the flames from the side of your face too many times to convince me otherwise. you're only unfeeling to movies... death to movie love! Death to Keanu and Sandra! Death to the Lion King! DIE! That I am about to begin my last year in school, and have tuition paid for fall semester. I have a job which enables me to pay for things I need, and I only have to work there for another year hopefully, until I finish school and my internship and can get a professional job. My friends from school and work are very supportive people who have stood by me and helped me these past few months. My ex boyfriend sent me a nasty email full of rotten stuff. No, really, I'm glad he did! That was what made it easy as anything to get over him. My house is air conditioned. There is chocolate readily available. I can write (though I don't often) and share it here. You guys share your stuff with me. I've made friends here at Passions who are awesome people. And lots of other stuff..... ![]() God bless America, my home sweet home. |
