Thank you Marge! This afternoon I installed a freeware search agent you recommended, called Copernicus. Left the webmaster there a nice note with a few links. Since I obviously cannot speak for all affected, I spoke just on mine but did give the link here in case the webmaster, admin or mods want to visit and see what ~*Khatharsis*~ has been up to. I hope we don't get a 'he's only sampling' excuse. This goes far beyond Fair Use, and theft is theft. Don't neglect to check your cookies if you aren't using spywareblaster or similar. I'm a bit suspicious of the adult-oriented ads there. |

Ed~ The one I let you know that I was working on earlier in the week (GrayEagle) has removed ALL of my poetry from his site now~ Yahoo and I stayed on him pretty good~ It is a lot of work but is well worth it~ Now hoping we'll get some action from this one we're working on now~ *HUGLETS* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Ok, call me vindictive -- now I'm giving the guy a haircut! I'm using the same software to back-check his OTHER postings over at the rap site, and sure enough, I'm finding he stole from other sites as well. I'm sending links to the administrators of those sites, asking them to let their people know. I've found a couple of other places where he's a member, but that's something I'll have to think about before I would do anything. There's also a Katharsis listed as a member HERE, and our member seems to be a rap fan too, but aside from that I don't see much indication that they're the same person. Me too, same message -- happy ending. I'm havin a bit of trouble with the software though....it's only showing about one in five of my poems in PiP, when I try to search by phrase -- even though it does show many of those poems when I ask for Ratleader and the title. Same message, which I must admit is a rarity. More often than not, I've gotten the 'not our problem' or 'please send notarized copies of everything' responses, so my thanks go out to Rob for very prompt and personal action. For Copernic, make sure to check Options or Configuration and select all search engines with 100 results per engine and make that your default for all groups. Also, it takes time for a webpage to get a search listing, mainly dependant on page hits. And then there's the normal culling every now and then. I recall finding one of mine quite by accident but got no hits on any search engine for that page until 3 days later. |
