I got a bit weepy.

I thought it was classy, heartfelt, and just-funny-enough.

It gave me a sense of closure.

And I know it seems odd that I would need that, but it was one of those things that I needed without realizing that I did.

Truly the end of an era...

Thanks Johnny, and thanks Dave, for giving the public a chance to say "goodnight".

I missed it - but I'm pleased that Letterman did a tribute.  I Wish I'd seen it...

I missed it, too . . . but will always and ONLY remember the Tonight Show, as it was, with Johnny. There truly is no other.
