Anyone use them? (Anyone even know what they are?

The term, as I understand it, comes from weB LOG. Essentially, a blog consists of software that makes it very easy to create web content organized in a chronological order. At its simplest, a blog can be just a personal diary (that happens to be public). I remember reading one about a year ago, written by a young college student living in Afghanistan during the American assault. But an on-line Journal is just one use, out of what must be thousands. A blog could be used to document an on-going project or perhaps as a sounding board for brain storming ideas. A writer, for example, might explore the different story or poem ideas she has and others could watch those ideas perhaps grow into a finished work? I suspect there are as many ways to utilize a blog as there are people who use them.

http://blogger.com/  now boasts over one million registered members. Must be something to this idea?

You tell me.

I've heard of them...visited that site and read a few. I wonder how long everyone can keep up their logs though? How many of the first members of blogdom are still doing what they started? Are the million users maybe 999,999 people who tried it a month and gave up?

Maybe someone can answer those questions...

First lemme say that I'm patting myself on the back for finally understanding (for the most part) a question of Ron's.
No, never heard of a blog (or was it blob), but from your description, yes, I would use it (with tutorial... ).
So...soon?

I live with a list in my pocket - So I know what I'm supposed to be doing next... Elsewise I'm listless - Does that count?

I used to use 'em, but after a while, they can become a nuisance to upkeep or maintain. I realized that I had a lot of new ICQ friends whom I knew absolutely nothing about -- and didn't care to find out!

They're alright.

To answer the question, yes, I've heard of them.  But I'm not sure I would use it.  [Ron asks "why"?] Because, in the very first link that I explored, I saw stuff in there that is not "home" to me.  If you WERE going to explore such an avenue, my own personal request would be, should I be given the chance to give it, would be to ask that you NOT incorporate it into Passions.  However, I'm probably going to be your only stick in the mud.

I wouldn't use it. I don't see the point in doing so.

If I have something to say, I'd rather say it directly to a person, or group of persons that I know.

What I read there couldn't arouse my curiosity at all.

I was looking for somewhere in bettween here and there and I was anywere but there. And I was lost in some blog that was written completely in Spanish. And it was pink!

I don't even know what I am talking about.

I am living proof that ghosts exist. Which is an oximoron but I don't care ;)

I'm bumping this up primarily for Sunshine's benefit and, perhaps, a deeper look.

Karilea, I just ran across something they're calling blawgs. It seems that in some circles, the legal profession has taken the idea and run a touchdown with it. Take a look at the first post in this thread (at a different forum).

quote:
A number of attorneys and law students and law professors have set up weblogs, or as that appellate lawyer from California calls them, weblawgs. We have a weblawg ring and have exchanged links and leave each other comments. Ideas are often bounced back and forth in what could be described as a decentralized community.

Using a blog for business has given me the chance to meet some great people. It's presented the opportunity to research and write about things that I like. It has also changed the focus of my friend's legal practice to things that he enjoys more, and it has attracted customers.

I've had 2 or 3 blogs. The only one I use right now is the one on my site.

A lot of online artists have them, or so I've noticed.
Must be a pain to keep it up all the time...

Especially when people want more. XD *sigh* The joys of having no life...
