Nothing is what it seems

Run and hide, run and hide there are birds in the sky.
Quick, duck as they near
They are pooping like a steer,
You'll be nothing but a smear.

Oh dear oh dear, cried the other little ant
and I always thought I'd get pecked in the end,
Not a watery grave.

Quick, quick into the hole,
Like a mole
Wait, wait.
until then . . .

Then? Replyed the other little ant.
Then for what?
The end?

No, no
It'll be dinner
When it dries.

For some reason, this seem like a metaphor for air raids to me. Which makes the line:

'It'll be dinner/when it dries'

phenomenally disturbing....
