Hi L.R, I am not sure what to make of this poem, whether it is political or social commentary, what your point is, which makes it hard to critique. Though its not going to stop me giving my thoughts on this. I really liked the opening lines, and the whole “foul slut flexes biceps bisects bi sex” I was unsure of how the next stanza sound until I read it aloud, it made sense in relation to the first and third stanza. I wasn’t really fond of the next part, “puss fest…………slept off oft” Personally I found that the imagery lacked the strength of the pervious and final sections. It seemed too judgmental (i.e. “puss fest….” ) and not as subtle as the rest of the poem. Just the way I, personally, felt about it. I can’t offer much more of a critique. I have my own thoughts of what the poem is about, it might be completely different to the meaning you intended. I enjoyed the read. watched from the wings as the scenes were replayed we saw ourselves now as we never have seen" ian curtis |
