Imagining Norah and Bobby Sands: Bobby Sands, Bobby Sands, Who will pay for the funeral bands? You didn’t die at English hands, You starved yourself, you bugger. The men come round with fives and tens, And then they come around again. Is this to be my living then? And what of the child, you bugger? Our Ireland is still impressed Despite your self deluded best. Ah Patriot, go to hell and rest, While I earn my bread, you bugger.! This is a piece of imagination, not history. Hi Brad -- I understand! Changed the language. I'm in PiP because there is a line and I have no agenda about crossing it. If I've still missed the point, please feel free to move or delete the poem. Best, Jim |

Thank you for the "screed" oceanvu2. Though it may not be "playing nice" it is pretty good and would certainly qualify as a poem as well. The only thing I would change is the word impressed. Maybe depressed would be better. Ida |
