My sleepy gaze falls heavily on
The moon-drenched street below
A narrow band of cobblestones
that runs betwixt our homes
The starlight has now faded
as the night reaches its end
I wonder and I watch for you
and listen for your step
A mighty fire of desire has run
rampant through these veins
as rational and reason are
slowly burned away
This passion it has conquered me
and will not leave me rest
and sets my heart a trembling
with your every living breath
But now I hear your steady step
ring out clear upon the stone
treading down this narrow street
that runs betwixt our homes
