a 'podge if small things, really too small to stand alone.

If any one or more need help or correction or clarification please jump in.

thanks,

Words and poetry
Poetry from words
Leaves and trees
Forests from seeds

differentials: "lyric" and "romantic" poetry.
The lyric is quite literal while romantic is highly metaphoric. (i learned these terms only today)

Lyric,
See what you say
Hear what you see
Like a lyre speaks to the ear

Romantic,
Cloak what you say
Thereby two views
Like a liar plays to the heart

-cockney ardvaark-

The ardvaark!
'E's 'ardly anti-ants!
'E eats 'em!
'E must!
Or 'ark 'ungry to dust

Those who ostracize are ostrich-headed in the sand

Soil too dry accepts moisture only slowly

We may agree, Beneficence
augments pleasured human sense
and declinates harsh wantoness
in poet and in poetess

I hang out at several forums. The message boards of forums for young poets are particularly inspirational.  Most of the items above were made on the spot in reaction to some  sort of young-kid angst or bickering.

Today, "themolly" is peeved at "livinglies" for  trashing her poetry ratings at another board.  She heaps coals and it's gotten tiresome.  Even the kids there say "molly, you're acting like him now"

I advised her re: "livinglies" in this way:

grace by forgive the man caught in lies.
this way your your path and his may rise
leading you both to higher thought
not because one must;
but because one ought

thanks so much.  I'd like to see more activity here at Critical.

Instead of creating numerous threads for my small and too-frequent aphorisms and epigrams, it seems more apropo to pile them in one place.

Any one can be plucked out for critical suggestions to improve or clarify.

Some are just downright... quirky.  But some are OK, I guess.   You give me valuable insight to which hit and which may miss the mark.

Much obliged!
