A comedy poem follows in the next form below this introduction
====
"KONG! Come see the mighty King Kong."
Do you recall the classic 1931 movie version? Do you recall the final dialog of that film? It was a soliloquy:
"Nay, it was -beauty- that killed the beast".
Hah, now the movie's take-off from classic literature gets twisted up again.
"KONG" as a giant ficus tree that fell in result of Hurrican Frances and blocked the street just ouside our driveway this past September in Miami Florida
The poem is a lampoon of several things.
please be blunt or enjoy it for what it is: a sendup with sarcasm in proper measure.
-entirely true- in all details

Slower now this page may load as giant greenling shows its fall by hand of Frances' fringest winds
It started life small ficus twin same kind we see in lobby pots Here our ficus grow out doors used best as primly private hedging staving off in-prying eyes
Rapid trunkage left untrimmed in few years stood up Goliath of majestic height yet tenuous grip its grasp to vital anchor Earth
And so this giant plant unpotted hoved over gave up its view to the sky blocking our street for days on end Mayor Diaz entouraged daily to psalm to Press it would be chopped (Goliath groaning in mobid state) grandstanding Mayor making Self taller than ever this Green Kong
It was not Beauty who killed the Beast (he in the black colored Tee) No, it was the Winds of Frances topped and trited by Winds of Diaz daily for six days' wake when chain saws (violins) came to fiddle to dirge Green Kong to death and dust
