Pow Gone (In sadness over D.C. tragedy)

I want to cry, I want to die
I want all the answers to why.
My soul a fiery pit of sadness
cradled within a heart of love.

A world in shambles tumbles
storms rage forth no control
eye of one shredding another.

Methods and choices at hand
they barrage through any land
gathering prey reducing to sand.

No man's destiny can shine upon
the wrath of those in turmoil win.
Another day shot in head brain dead
living, walking, breathing, pow gone.

WOW LD intensely powerful piece.  It's so sad that such tragedies seem never ending.  You have expressed so well the senselessness that is happening.  You've captured well the sadness in the situation.  Bonnie

Very tragic. Your poem captures it well.

Your poem expresses the tradgedy of that happening very powerfully. If that was your intention, you have succeeded beyond measure!! So senselesss it is indeed.

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Wow, I thank all of you for your reply's, I had just read that one of the teens shot was brain dead and it just sent me into the mood that this poem came from. I have heard since that this was media screw up, and that this child is not brain dead. I can only pray it's the later.

I hope so too, LD.. this is a powerful poem.. I love your style.. excellent!!
Hey, I hope the first line isn't true of you, eh?
yeah, it IS stupid.. so shameful what a person can and does do to others.. I s'pose that is one thing I really DO hate, in life.. how humans treat each other.. I mean, yeah, there are good people, and that's the majority.. but sad.. there are also those who would do things like this.. just disappointing.. ={

This poem is so strong.. Love your work..

Lynne
