This is from the Poetry Workshop. It should have been something called "personification". LOL,I didn’t succeed, but it still is a poem.

Icy cold blood like a river
a bitter heart dark as the night
the sunshine’s  making me shiver
no diff’rence between wrong or right
Falling from heights beyond measure
into the Devil’s lurid ache
such pain in finding a treasure
a universe made of real fake
Yet the rain purifies my soul
and innocent laughter my heart
begone with all pity my goal
for living itself is an art
So I’ll let the sun embrace me
and  peaceful waters flow inside
from now on I’ll see life’s beauty
accept life as low and high tide
Life, precious and full of delight
gift from the Almighty above
with all that is in me I’ll fight
for it’s life itself that I love

Great poem, Munda!   I like the imagery...kinda downcast intro, but that's okay, there are no rules in poetry (and I take that to my advantage too). Really great piece!

Munda, this is so beautiful, I dont know what you were "trying" to write in the worshop, but the end result is a lovely piece of work. Janet Marie

It's 3am I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it."

Loved this!  My favorite line was...."a universe made of real fake"
The ending was so inspiring too!

"To you, my children, These lovely flowers I give.
Prune ye my vines and fig trees,
With care my flowerets tend,
But keep the pathway open,
Your home is at the end."

If your purpose was to go from "black" to "white" or evil to good, or cold to warm, you succeeded quite well.

"...with all that is in me I’ll fight..."  I really like that line Munda.  You did a great job of reeling me in!

 "...at night I cling to you I'm so afraid;
afraid the day will come
and I'll wake up and find you gone.
But you promise that you'd not abandon me
and kissed my fears away
but I woke up to that day..."

hi munda,as you said, this is a poem, i enjoyed and i think you have some great lines here

begone with all pity my goal
for living itself is an art

these two lines spoke particularly to me, for it seemed to be a lesson that i had understood this past month or so...

with all that is in me i'll fight
for its life itself that i love

i love life too

Munda, this is not just a poem, it is a very lovely one!     I like your conclusion, too.  Life is a pretty good thing, despite the dark times.  And I don't think Dutch are weird.   I've met some very nice ones.

To love another person is to see the face of God.

Wikket, always a pleasure to see your name. Thank you.

Kaile, I'm sorry to hear life gave you such a hard time, but I'm glad you love life enough to continue.

kcsgrandma, thank you for your kind words but.. uh...I am a little weird.    I happen to have multiple personalities, but thank goodness they stay in the 'Stute.

Time to let this oldie go folks. High time for a new poem
