The sleeping poet tosses poetically from side to side, in rhythm and in rhyme throwing all covers aside. What words caress this dreamer’s mind In a midnight fantasy? What wonders of form and verse will be written for all to see. Perhaps the sleeping poet never really dreams at night But pens his dreams as poems when the morning sun is bright. So tiptoe round the poet if you see him in repose He’s not really sleeping, but, beginning to compose. |

What an absolutely delightful premise, beautifully expressed. My new excuse for daydreaming on the job "I'm composing"....hmmmm...thank you PdV. |

PdV, I love this. I'd like to think that my dreams are poetry in the works! My problem is I think of lines for poems during the night as I awaken, but when I actually get up, I can't remember them. Guess I ought to get a tape recorder!! Sheila ...the earth and myself are of one mind. The measure of the land and the measure of our bodies are the same........... Joseph, Nez Perce Chief |

I love this one! Wow, a new thought to it. I like the idea of writing their dreams when the sun is up! Excellent Sharon! |

This is a great peom Poet. I don't know about in my sleep, but I do know I've spent many a night tossing and turning as the makings of a poem rushed through my head. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |

This is delightful, Sharon! So does that mean that if I get more sleep I might get some inspiration? Denise |
