Eleven years have passed by
since you left this earth and me.
Though time has helped with coping
my love for you, is all my heart does see.

My love for you was so deep and strong,
it lingers to this very day.
I still carry a flaming torch for you,
it shines bright as a beaming ray.

From past memories, a thought of you
can still race my heart to a pound.
No greater joy in life I've known
than the love which you and I had found.

Time will never lessen my love
or break my ties to you.
I thank God for the time we had,
even though the years were so few.

I know that we will reunite
when my earthly life does end.
We'll journey the paths of eternity,
around each and every bend.

I wrote this in May 1996, eleven years after the death of my love.

Sheila I know what he meant to you and still means to you today. This is beautiful and I'm sure he's smiling down on you right now.

Thank you to all of you for your comments on this one. I hit a wrong key when I typed in the year I wrote this. It was written in 1996 not 1986.....oooops. Thanks again everyone.
