all nature grows and dies naked - innocent amongst the artifice of Man observe each branch, blade, petal, root and stem how unselfconscious and free it grows such simple forms with such a simple plan to live and grow, to survive, to stretch out for the sun to simply be but complex Man with his neurotic plans builds and burns around her somehow deformed and lost ignorant of the cost of separation from his Mother he doesn't see the simplicity but only looks to see if he can use or abuse her in her innocence he thinks to exploit her to paint pretty colours over her purity to burn the wooden home of life to harvest a crop he will consume to distort and twist fertility into a tool to drain and choke the river of his veins but she, simply says nothing not yet she dies without a sound but her death, unknown to him, finds an echo in the mirror of his soul and he too takes unknowing a step toward his grave where after all he's done she will accept him as all mothers do their son as they lie at last side by side |

Dear Allan. You wrote a very good poem and to a great extent these dire predictions of yours are p valid. But having been raised on a farm and living in farming country, I know how much the farmers love their land and how they try to restore as they use it. If it were up to the farmers alone, there would be no one going hungry. It is the distribution that is behind times. Nature will survive. Her rejuvenating powers are limitless, but like you, I am not sure of man. Joyce |

Great work .I written somewhat of a similar context poem, but not so good as yours. Great work. I feel the pain in this poem. Ronil (One becomes god only when they have fully understood the role of being a human being.) |

Thank you both very much. I wrote this after the potential effects of the Bush decision on Kyoto sunk in. I take the point on farmers. I'll look up the poem... |

ahhh your poetry always so real, never trite, but full of meaning. How i must agree. Personally i truely don't beleive the earth has endless rejuventating powers, and even if we stopped destroying her now,our damage has been done, earth can't survive like this much longer, she will eventually give out,and humans have done it to them very selves. How sad,oh dreary oh fearly!! lol okay i AM done!! What was i trying to say,oh yeah!! EXCELLENT poetry!! sammi much madness is divinest sense, and much sense the starkest madness~Emily Dickinson |

Excellent thoughts, Allan - and a fine presentation....It's good to see people recognize what's happening... Unfortunately, greed has taken over, and nature will eventually be stripped bare....and your forecast will come true. Lary |
