Pertinence Drawing eyesight upward Ceiling interacts as barrier. Inquisitiveness capturing mind As momma and baby emerge. Baby crawling, discovering space, Momma alone, seeming asleep. What pertinence do they hold In a whole within our scheme of life? I perceive some elements confoundly, Being multi factored within earthly venues. Complete universal picture permits intrigue, Trails upon trails forest many minds. Expositions can crest and plummet within a whisper Of natures breath as variations vibrate. As you digest this poem what nutrients Of pertinence have lingered on your mind? Do you have a grasp on the element That spawned me to delve into writing it? ( Please tell me your thoughts here and I will be returning with Pertinence 2 in a few days) |

The nutrient that remains is simply: Live. I don't know if I've gone off the deep sharp edged cliff of completely wrong perception, but it seems to me to be Live. Go, take a moment, imagine someone elses moment, imagine someone else imagining thier own personal moment, through the barriers of walls, floors, ceilings, time and space. Of all things uncontrollable and the melancholy nature of nature herself...carpe diem. Thus Live. |

Dear Ria; I get the message of how important are we as individuals in the vast scheme of things and are we being impertinent to think we are so special as individuals? My answer is a spiritual one...we are all unique and wonderfully made and loved by God! Love, Ellie (how close did I get?) I love the poem, even if I'm way off base! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Ria, I'm not going to answer your questions just yet as I know you so well, but just had to say what an awesome job you did with this poem. Your friend, Dawn |

Ria, Several "nutrients" come to the forefront here. Childbirth. Ejection from the safety of the womb. Apprehension about an impetuous child's exploration of an unforgiving world. The mystic spirituality of nature, opposing the harsh realities of her temporal indifference. I guess that's enough for now. lol "The rose, like the cactus flower, protects herself with thorns. We however, impale ourselves on their beauty." |

Thanks everyone, your answers are great, and though all a little bit different than each other basically you were all on the right track. I have posted Pertinence 2 so you can see what led me to this poem. Thanks again, I had fun with this one Sometimes we have to follow a stronger voice, even if it's silent. |
