-This poem I just wrote this morning. Nightmares are very common for me at night. Sometimes I have control in them, but most of the times I have no control in anything in my mind.- ~In a world of mine!~ Every night when I go to bed The shadows come out, to play with my head I'll close my eyes and forget their lies That lay behind the clouded blue sky In a world far better then mine! I'll run fast across the fields and laugh This is my dream, I wish would last My hair will flow with golden glow Leaving me feeling never so low In a world far better then mine! A rainbow I see above the trees I watch the leaves, as they dance their way free They hitch a ride with the winds strong clide Bringing them far across the mountain side In a world far better then mine! Looking out across the sea My long sleeves, blowing in the breeze Blue eyes wide, I see the sky It darkens before my own eyes In a world far better then mine? I look with fright, then I turn white There is a storm with lightening strikes No where to run, no where to hide No shelter for me to find In a world far better then mine? I turn to run, not knowing why This world created can not be mine I would not allow it in my mind These thoughts are evil, they'll make me blind This is not a world of mine! It's a trap! They've got me now. They stole my mind and made me blind They told me lies, right from the start But I ignored them, pushing them back in the dark So they have come to steal this world of mine! I awaken myself from the horrors before me Only to see they are real and still want me They wait in my room, hidden silently with plans They'll come for me next time when I dream of warm lands Far, far, from their cold hands, was only another dream that I had This is my world for which the shadows have stole from my hand! ~WhisperingWind/Alana Rain Turcotte~ |

Alana, WOW! this is a little sad, but beautiful--and very well written--nice flow. Sometimes the best poems are written in a short time. I often have mine come to me right after I wake up, when my head is clear and fresh from a dream. I hope you have pleasant dreams tonight. ~Gene |

Alana you've written well fo night terrors (something I have been very familiar with). As Gene already said - good flow and very sad. Remember that what is in a dream can't hurt you. I know that's hard to make yourself understand as it's all unfolding. I too wish you pleasant and peaceful dreams. |
