The weakest eye
renders vision beyond the cradle's horizon.
Filtering nothing,
the knowledge stores
bless both light and disease,
to caress this uncensored climate.

The weakest eye
stays unshielded to the darning
needle, no thread of deceit
can suture its witness,
embracing ebullition experience
regardless of mendacity and misery.

The weakest eye
blossomed from virginity.
Cynicism and hatred; these humanitarian
burdens press poison on its pristine pupil.
In its summer repose the sun sheds,
for the sight, an unbiased dawn.

The weakest eye
paints a tapestry secretly
memory ingrained binds
all vibrant vessels, as children
touching, never to break the barriers of intimacy.
Sorrow for the skulk locking the eye in solidarity.

"Things get clear when I feel free When whatever's next comes easily
When gentle hands give life to me" Manic street preachers- why so sad

Ah, Brian, 'tis good to see you again, me lad!! How have you been? This piece of yours is a bit over my head. I've read it a few times and each time I think I'm starting to get it, I get lost again. Can you give me a bit of help? I like your new colorized picture!

Thank you for the email, Brian! Yes, you meant just what I thought you meant. I should be a bit more confident in my impressions! Great writing!

very very cool write Bri-gator
excellent use of metaphor and comparisons...
and a deep look at the vision humanity all too often lacks.
very cool and unique perspective and inspire
as well as excellent vocab choices.

"In its summer repose the sun sheds,

what a beautiful thought that is...
I do so love the way your poetic mind works
sweet prophet pal-o-mine
so great to see your smiling face and name here and to get to read your words...
as I always learn from you.
love ya Bri

this poem brought this old fav song to mind...
(not sure why.. you know how my mind works) LOL

BEFORE THE DELUGE
Jackson Browne
from the cd Late For the Sky

Some of them were dreamers, some of them were fools
Who were making plans and thinking of the future
With the energy of the innocent, they were gathering the tools
They would need to make their journey back to nature

While the sand slipped through the opening
And their hands reached for the golden ring
With their hearts they turned to each other's hearts for refuge
In the troubled years that came before the deluge

Some of them new pleasure, some of them knew pain
And for some of them it was only the moment that mattered
And on the brave and crazy wings of youth
They went flying around in the rain
And their feathers once so fine grew torn and tattered

And in the end, they traded their tired wings
For the resignation that living brings
And exchanged love's bright and fragile glow for the glitter and the rouge
And in the moment they were swept before the deluge

Now let the music keep our spirits high
Let the buildings keep our children dry
Let creation reveal its secrets by and by
By and by
When the light that's lost within us reaches the sky

Some of them were angry at the way the earth was abused
By the men who learned how to forge her beauty into power
And they struggled to protect her from them only to be confused
By the magnitude of her fury in the final hour

And when the sand was gone and the time arrived
In the naked dawn, only a few survived
And in attempts to understand a thing so simple and so huge
Believed that they were meant to live after the deluge

Let the music keep our spirits high
Let the buildings keep our children dry
Let creation reveal it's secrets by and by
By and by
When the light that's lost within us reaches the sky

We're living in a world full of illusion
Everything is so unreal
My mind is in a state of confusion
But I can't deny the way I feel

Brian, you blow me away with your talent! I'm with Denise, I had to read this over a few times so that your message could sink in...and it gets better and makes more of an impact on the reader each time! Your expression and unique phrasing is incredible. And you're still a cutie-patootie Welcome back, my friend!

Take care,
Melissa~

Brian,
Great wordplay and imagery here. Reminder that sight is a given, but insight is truly a gift. Thanks.
