Warmth rising in my cheeks As the wind carries her name past Sending leaves and me aflutter. A distant yearning grows within A chance to give voice to my Subtle heart's whisper. At first sight was I so smitten Trying not my gaze to settle Upon her soft, angelic face, One I oft seen in forgotten Cathedrals. Her name...such name I yearn To give life and voice And breath and kiss; Trepidation grows instead Soothing my oft anxious soul With calming words of, "Not now, but someday." Someday never becomes Neither does the love That might've been Were not I so afraid Of losing what bonds We share; As the wind carries her name past Warmth rising in my cheeks. Alicat the Persnikitty As I sit here dimly thinking Watching modem lights a-blinking Churning out poetic hash. Lord, in all Your piety, Help me keep my sanity: Please don't let the modem crash! --Alicat |

Very nicely written and rich with touches of melancholy over what might have been. Sweet, touching poem. |

Alicat - This is lovely. We all carry so many "what ifs" within us and how well I can relate. Beautifully expressed. Sheila |

I found 2 in Spiritual, 1 in Prose, 9 in Dark ( did only 2 there) and 1 in the Workshop. I didn't bring them all back up in the smaller Forums, as I do not think that's the right thing to do All and all around 90 poems BUT....that's old ! How about 90 new ones this year ? Beautiful, Alicat! I wish you'd post here in the Pub more often, I think your poems are great! I've read some of them in the Opens but I don't have time to reply to them--taking care of the Pub is work enough...lol Great poem! Little Spyro T. Dragon |
