Goodnight…tonight I am too sad
to dwell amid good cheer,
and share the laughter and delight
of all those gathered here.

Goodnight…to those who will not face,
the day I face tomorrow,
those with futures bright and fair
devoid of endless sorrow.

Goodnight, to all who celebrate
those blessings that they’ve had
for me there is no glad escape
tonight…I am too sad.

Well...yep, that was very much what I meant. You did the line honor. I really liked the way you broke it up in the last verse. Thanks.

I liked this, a very creative use of the line, and a lovely poem in its own right.

To love another person is to see the face of God.

very interesting, I like whats been done here

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.
