Pulse of a base drum
Slow steady beat of life
Sixth sense felt
But nearly never heard

Keeping all in harmony
Sure and measured rhythm
Calm, cool, even
Bump, bump, bump, bump

That is until that moment
A true life experience
Pinnacle of symphony
Moment of truth

Guts wrung tight
Hyper heightened senses
Measured beat is broken
Fluttering with speed

Moment ending with a crash
Good or bad, it has passed
Steady beating returns
The next movement has begun

every day is a new day with which we can change the world

Ah, lovely analogy to the cycles of life!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
