Pegasus, I just saw your poem, and I don't think that there's anything to forgive. I've been depressed, and yes, I have tried to kill myself before. Fortunately, it never worked and things seemingly got better. Tomorrow, or perhaps the next, I'll send you want I wrote the last time everything was crashing in and I just wanted it to end.

Jim was always different
Albino yes, was he
His fingers nails were twisted
Not like the ones on me
And his mind was unbelievable
He never cracked a book
But could ace any exam
Without having to take a 2nd look
He understood more then I can
Shot down most beliefs
And could solve almost anything
In minutes instead of weeks
He didn't need a calculator
Could add, subtract, muliply, divide
All with just a quick little wink
And did it in his mind
Brilliant, awesome, smart indeed
The world was a better place
But without acceptance for being different
He couldn't stay in our rat race
He was too white to play outside
Underneath the burning sun
And to bright to stay in class
With others who were as young
His looks made people stare
And others had to point
No one could just accept him
So he went with disappointment
Living through this life
When he finally had enough
His closest friends understood
It hurts so much that he's gone
To see more acceptance would be good.

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

Angel, I second what Pegasus said. Thank you for this insight into what happened with your friend. It is very hard to be different in any way. People can be so cruel! I'm glad he had you for a friend, someone who cared about who he was inside. It must have been a real blessing in his life.
