Shall I dance a new dance? < !signature-->Shall I sing a new song? The old song was filled with words of deception. A love song gone wrong. A shallow tune, the beat off-key, No depth of melody. the instruments out of tune. The dancers have left the floor. It is time for a new song, that is only mine. Filled with rich melodies. A deep resounding orchestration, a waltz of immeasurable beauty and truth. My turn to dance to the beat of my own hearts desire in tune with the universe, as I conduct a new symphony of my very own. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. [This message has been edited by ellie LeJeune (edited 01-17-2001).] |

Dear Ellie, I see this as a launch of faith in a brave new world, unshackled from former noise once considered music, but now recognized for what it is or was. And now ready to really make the music you always wanted to. What an upbeat positive message-life does go on & calls for change looking ahead to new adventures & dreams. Follow Your Dreams, David |

Very nice, Ellie, and I do identify with much of what you have written. I'm so glad you can see that your own music was always the most beautiful of all. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

Ellie... I too danced to that old song....and I am waiting patiently for the new song to begin. This is a beautiful tribute to self-realization. Ranea |

Ellie, You wrote a beautiful melody of your very own. I think I can dance to this one. Gene |

That's the spirit. Make up your own dance moves. That's certainly my plan. Joy |

I also read this as a poem about self-discovery and improving life. I'm still trying to create my own song, still searching for the right words. I like your use of metaphor here, it allows the reader to interpret the message in his or her own way! Great job! |

My turn to dance to the beat of my own hearts desire in tune with the universe, as I conduct a new symphony of my very own. this is a wonderfully positive poem Ellie, grasp those dreams and bring them alive.
