willingly showing me the ropes,
never a harsh word or glare,
you patiently laded me with tips
to fly your paper plane well,
entrusting me the key to your inner world
while showing me more respect than most

i was flattered
i listened attentively,
trying my darnest
to absorb all that you said,
not wishing to appear nonchalant

i flew your plane
you had taught me well
you cheered, your face lit up like a candle,
even gamely embracing me

enveloped in your warmth,
i sure didnt deserve that hug
but it felt sooo good
and thank you
for making my day

Awwww..this is so cool..isn't it neat to bond with a child?..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

It sounds as if you learned more than how to fly a paper plane.    Nice job.

Kaile:  I agree with kcsgrandma here.  A wonderful piece expressing all you have for the child.  Wonderful!  I loved it!

Kaile; This was enchanting...Amazing how little children can teach us the most about love...Ellie

Oh... This is such a sweet and warm piece. I love kids, and I like the way they place their trust in you. You know, the way they just place their hand in yours for you to lead them across a street.   That's just so sweet... And I think you captured that in your poem

That's beautiful! Hehe, I wish people stayed like that when they grew up.. now that really would be great..

It's nice to share - kiss someone when you have a cold.
