On this Christmas Eve In my heart I still believe That Santa will take flight Arriving at my house tonight He'll stand by the tree Where he will see In the angel's soft glow Many tears did flow The memories of Christmas past Under the tree are cast Gentle reminders of yesterday All around me peacefully lay Warmth begins to encompass my heart Where the coldness at last shall depart Heavenly light breaks through dark On to the future my dreams embark Santa heard my request To put those fears to rest On this winter's night An angel has heard my plight Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
