Well here it finally is, sorry about the delay Paula
but I was on holidays and my muse is not being nice to me, thanks for the great line. "If I had to say goodbye today"

BY the way this poem is in response to an inspiration challenge/plea I posted awhile back. THanks again to everyone who donated lines.

==========================

dedication to a loved one.

I am naked wrapped only
in the breath of your words.
My defences down you hold me
precious and delicate, all I can
give is of you and when I reach
to touch and dream of taste,
the heavens fall to my feet,
yet it is so easy for you to slip away.
I long to cement this wonder, to be
complete in the rapture of your physicality.
You are day, the light the dawn without dusk,
and if I had to say goodbye today
I would wither and die in your abscence.

You stole the sun from my heart.

hi, your first two lines caught my eyes..

i am naked wrapped only
in the breath of your words

isnt it amusing how our sole existence is governed by the words of our loved ones?...

Wow!  I was certainly caught by the first two lines, but the totality takes my breath away!  This is so beautiful!  I just might send the link to a loved one of my own.

I was caught by the entire piece, good work, Brian.
