Sounds of silence ring, loud echoes through my mind speaks more clearly than the unspoken words lost in space and time. Lonely. . . is the heart that seeks, knows only where it has been; guiding lamp held high, moves in the hands that tremble across the cold dark night; where each step moves forward, the last step disappears...looking, back I can only see nothing. Solemnly. . . the mournful future tolls, reverberates through the soul with the sounds of silence. In numb solitude I slowly wander with a dark...mournful stride, where bitter tears are shed, of stated loneliness that shadows me through cycles of endless tides. In the glow of barren moon ageless eons revolve, while patiently wails the soul that makes no noise. Black is the night, white is the day; in shades of gray hands over my face, I listen to sounds of silence. "Come...dance with me, into my world of words." |

wonderful imagery...the heart is indeed a lonely hunter. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Wordancer~~Such imagery in this poem! Honestly, I still hear 'The Sounds of Silence' in my daily life...and somehow, silence is more painful than noise. You are not alone with your silence...I am there too! ~~Jamie Merry Christmas! "Who does not love the Titanic? ...We all go: only a few, first-class." --David R. Slavitt, 1983 |
