Not a magic wand But a brightly shining star - A Savior is born. Not a golden crown But reflection of God's light Come to visit earth. Not cast-off bathrobes But coats for Judah's shepherds Soon to be the flock. Not brightly wrapped gifts But symbols of God, King, and Sacrificial death. Not childish voices But angels from heaven sing Glory allelu. Not a great palace But a manger where beasts dine Cradles the true King. Not with strong armies But gentle humility God sends His own Son. |

Wonderful read.......a good topic to have in a poem. I enjoyed this greatly! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them! |

Dopey - Thank you yet again. This was inspired by seeing kids in the hall at church in costumes, preparing for the program they will present today. Ellie - Thank you. You are always so sweet! kcg, Beautifully written. Perfect for the season. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
