Broken spirit caged Flightless bird lost Amid all the lies Freedom has a cost Clipped wings bind Staying on the ground Poor bird trys to fly Can't become air bound Mournfully he sings As others soar above Tethered eagle cries For what his kind loves Tail feathers dragging His head bowed low Freedoms found at last When his spirit lets go. With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |

Your poems have a mystery about them, I am sure you have a story to tell. One thing for sure there is what thing a cage can never do and that is take away your song however sad it may be. Keep singing! I am a birdlover as you can tell. |

I wrote one kinda like this, following that same thing. Its how I feel sometimes, watching everyone else doing what I want to do, but I can't do those things...tied down, and bound, I don't know why. This is a great piece, though, makes mine look dull and unfinished, I'm not worthy! *L* |
