I was sitting at a friends house When a loud knock came from the door A police officer was standing there He asked to talk to me..Okay I said and sure So stepping to the front porch He took off his hat Stood for a moment silent Then apologized right off bat Slightly puzzled, I just waited Not sure why he was there And when he started to speak My knees buckled, I fell into a chair He couldn't look me in the eye When he said they let him go today And he warned me to be careful Then turned to walk away "What happens if he shows up?" I had to ask before he got to far "Pray he doesn't have a gun" Then the cop left in his car My doors are all locked now Since they gave him his freedom Keeping to the shadows I'm always on the run. With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |

This is a frightening, but undoubtedly all too true account. A difficult subject to deal with, and you did it well.< !signature--> To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn [This message has been edited by kcsgrandma (edited 10-16-2000).] |
