Another day on the factory floor, Productions down, the Boss is sore, Sixteen more years at this hectic pace, Til I retire from this old rat race. These old machines are slow at best, Too frequent breakdowns will attest, Productions scheduled night and day, No time for maintenance, patches stay! A new machine comes to our place, But no one knows how to interface, Production suffers this learning curve, The Boss is threatening, my, what nerve! If we were to become a sinking boat, The worker becomes the prime scape goat, Management will wring their hands and say, "It's all their fault we close today"! I hope that you will understand, That workers don't have the controlling hand, Our "Empowerment" is nothing but a word, Companies use, it's quite absurd! They call the shots, that's their game, If the call is bad, are we to blame? Our input falls on stone deaf ears, And makes us old before our years. |

Great writing!! I think you have exposed, "the rest of the story", for those of us who have worked in the manufacturing business. Flowed so well. Loved it! Marcy |

Dennis; Same old, same old, they need a scapegoat, and we're always it! Hang in there good friend. If you ever start getting paid as a poet you'd make a million, this is wonderfully written! Love, ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |
