I shook hands with Joe today, (Senator Lieberman, I meant to say) Passing through on a campaign blitz, Working hard for the votes he gets! His congenial smile and cordial greeting, Set the tone for our brief meeting, On a mission as the clock runs out, He wants my vote, he left no doubt! Yes , I shook hands with Joe today, Then off he went on his campaign way, Of this day I'll long remember, 'Specially if he wins in November! 10-16-2000 |

Dennis, This is a most interesting little poem, who would of thought my brother hobnobing with one who could possibly play an important role in our country's future! I never shook hands with a presidential or vice presidential candidate, but have had a chance to meet the aunt of one, and have also met a couple of US Senators, and a couple of governors of ME. Ah Dennis, this brought back the memory of seeing, and touching [hand-shake] Dan Blocker when he was stumping on a political campaign oh so long ago... and it made his departure from earth that much more poignant... and for those of you who don't know who I'm talking about, let's just say I'm showing my age again...
