Buried in his books The perfect student crams hard all day and night He realises too late (not without regrets) that life itself is the greatest teacher of all |

Kaile, As important as books and structured learning is, theres alot more that can be learned also ,as you said by living life and benefiting by it's lessons. Patience, my friend, paying your dues by completing school will also bring many rewards in you life. Thoughtful poem! Kaile~ Indeed, life teaches us lessons. And lessons teach us life. Sort of paradoxical, huh ? You keep your nose to those books and life will one day reward you for having done so. Love ya', my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I liked this, Kaile. Having at one point in my life been an almost "perfect student", I realized now how much passed me by when I should have been tasting more of life. It's a happy person who can find a good balance between book learning and life learning. Good luck on that quest! To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

all study is in fact a study of life is it not? whether it be books or experiences..very insightful thoughts here..good job. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

I found that out too, school does not teach you what is really important in life, unfortunately it is a neccessary evil. Best of luck with the exams. "an afixiation a fix on anything the line of life the limb of a tree the hands of he and the promise that s/he is blessed among women". Patti Smith |

Yesh, it might be true that an ace student who gets gd grades doesnt mean that he's the best person who can work effectively and efficiently. It probably just means that he's good at memorising his work. But it is the society that creates this scenario. Afterall which boss would prefer a graduate who got straight Ds over one who got straight As. Such is life. _,,,^.^,,,_ |

Yeah.. I noticed that at the end of this year, when, after my social life suffered sorely for my study habits, I still knew nothing, an had gained no frieds, nor got to know my class mates any better.. so I'm finished with that. Until next year probably, =P This is one of your better ones I think.. I was going to read all of yours here, but I can't, coz I have to go, but I enjoyed the reading I did do. Thank you! -Lynne It's nice to share - kiss someone when you have a cold. |
