I'm a wanderer, a nomad...I don't live in one particular area, Just wherever I end up.

There are times
I want to break down and cry
All hope gone
All hope lost
My mind a fanatical halacaust
I reflect on my life
on all my pain
I see few good times
So few of them left
My perspective is negative
I must keep it in
Can't show anyone I hurt
Can't show anyone I care
Burned out and shoved down
A dark, empty pit of emotion
that I can no longer feel
without bringing the knife to my throat
I cry...
Finally, I cry
And the tears I've waited so long to shed
Have all lost their meaning
And now I'm alone
So cold and alone
And no one is around
to hold me
to comfort me
to tell me
Everything will be okay
I start to think
Nothing will ever be okay
again
Why do the tears flow so easily
when all of the emotion is drained out of me
I guess I'll never know
And with this last sigh
I sit and contemplate my final goodbyes
And just as I'm about to break free
Something grabs a hold of me
I guess I'll live another day
and see how things go from here...
Besides, they can't get any worse...
can they???

*I chose this poem because it shows the side of me that I know the best - my depressive side. Depression is all I've known for as long as I can remember. Fortunately, I have put things in perspective and have finally allowed myself happieness. And although I have my moments, at least now I can let the sun shine on me once more.

SorrowsMystress~
This write certainly epitomizes the lost and lonely feelings that consume some.

'I guess I'll live another day
and see how things go from here...
Besides, they can't get any worse...
can they???'

Someone, much wiser than myself said -
'Things at their worst - will either cease
to be,
or else climb upward to where they were before.'

Look for the light to shine and you will
find a ray of light to warm your spirit.

...you have written of this so well, and I do not read pity, but a look at reality. Keep writing, good job.  Love, Marcy

Nothing moved me more than this poem SorrowsMistress. It is passionatley sad, yet boldly beautiful...
