Oh evening star your bright clear ray In joyous light I cast my gaze The lunar queen she lights the way To herald again the pristine days The night sky on its mirrored brow Is silent still……. no echo calls The chilly air surrounds me now My frosty breath around me falls The souls of men enclosed I see Are wrapped up in your mystic flow On still clear nights they call to me And disappear in mornings glow And dashing out across the sky A comet streak of promise passed Burns a memory before my eye A discharged wish that couldn’t last Each twinkling of the star light beam Showers the mystery from above Bolts like icicles glint and gleam A magical mesmerising web of love This cradle sits in blue and green Wandering lonely heavens paths The destiny known remains unseen A paradox of nature……. Laughs The inhabitants upon this mystery boat Seem unmoved by cosmic tides When steeds of fire the mountains smote The cataclysmic ending…….. rides I’ve seen things in the clear night sky The shadows of a time gone past Why are men prepared to die? Pursuing dreams to quick to fast The mystery now unfolds …the keys Lay around…. don’t look to far In waves of light it comes to me With a twinkling ………of a star Jon Mewett [This message has been edited by Jon Mewett (edited 09-07-2000).] |

An extremely good use of discriptive words, I could see the image that you were painting and I like it. The real beauty is found within. --Little Girl |

Jon;mesmerizing and sooo ethereal. beautiful job here.. Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Thanx Honey and Marge......well the cartoon was quite funny you know........but there's something about the moon tonight that makes me wanna sit down and write. Write a verse just for you to see the sunshine trickling through. For you see I've never seen such brightness from my 'puter screen. Jon |
