Float on gentle breeze
Flutter by, my butterfly
Lighter than the air

Joannak,

Artist crafted wings
Wafted on the gentle breeze
Floating with such grace

I love your butterfly haiku!

When the veiling cloud has past
Playful shadows dance

Dance on the flower
sing your summers ending song
quiet majesty

you have written a beautiful Haiku! Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Wow - simply beautiful like that of the butterfly.  I love butterflies and your haiku showed the grace of a butterfly so well

Since you have a magic pen when it comes to writing haikus, can I request that you write one about sunflowers since I love them so!

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

Thank you all for reading and replying.  I was outside writing another poem when a lovely swallowtail landed on my pen.  I sat in amazement without moving until it fluttered away, just in time for me to quickly jot down this haiku.  A good thing for me I was not thinking of a longer format...
Dennis, Ellie, Maria ....I enjoyed your offerings as well.  Thanks again,
Joanna
