Dead bodies on the streets A heaven-sent gift to vultures,i'm sure Rotting and decaying away With no one to give them a decent burial More than a million of my "brothers" killed Struck down by senseless violence To eternity and nothingness With their loved ones unable to share their joys with them forever I wish this nonsense will end Who ever heard of tigers eating tigers Or leopards devouring their own kind Or lions preying on themselves So why do we kill our "brothers"? When we should work towards an united nation With everyone living together in peace and harmony Alas,a bomb is approaching my way i try desperately to hide away To save my own insignificant life But the bomb explodes sooner than i run And as i watch the bomb explode, i find my life slipping away @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ for my 1000th post,i thought it would be a good idea to "return to basics" and hence my virgin work...will be interested to see all of your first work so pls indulge me for this challenge, okay |

you don't want to see my first poem..heheh this one of yours however, is so sad, but true. reminds me of a piece I wrote called, "The Death of Sanity" maybe I'll post it somewhere here at passions someday. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Kaile; First I want to congratulate you on your 1,000 post! Second to say, you have written a beautiful poem. It is a sad commentary, but the truth needs to be spoken and understood, before changes can begin. ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Kaile, Congratulations on your 1000th post! You have posted a very serious, questioning work here, mans inhumanity to man. Not a simple question , nor are there any simple answers. Until we understand and appreciate the sancity of life and the value of others this tradegy will continue. Good thought provoking poem. Dennis :^) |

Congrats Kaile!! This poem is very deep and serious, questioning some of the saddest times in history, war. I often ponder why we go to war, why we can't just look past the surface of ourselves, and why we just can't settle our differences by talking, not weapons. In the end, war doesn't solve anything but overpopulation by the cruelest means. This poem made me think of the Jews in the Holocaust, the KKK and the blacks, blacks and the whites. --The Little One |

Ah this is good and thought provoking made me realize how much voilance there is. My first poem, well I'm not sure if its my first poem, but it the first one I ever put real thought on it. Its on the main site. Not sure what subcatory so just look under my name and its called "sunshine" What I write and others read is your own experiance and perceptions. |
