Bleary dreams give way To hazy reality Crumpled clothes lie tangling The weary feet to limp from Sleeping in the cold From lack of sentiment Sticking out in the night Forgotten Crackling electric voices Auto tuned come back in alarm More death more destruction More crashes for middle aged Men with braces and Rolls Royce’s The kettle sings it’s merry song Loosening my chords And memories of a victory won Slide down with the toast and jam Blinds crack open Eyes dazzled from sudden Light intoxication My hands tell my brain Things are in need of attention Especially my beard Which as sprung leaking from my face Midnight shadows Now desperate ramblings Sleek steel against flesh Returns skin to soft former glory Caffeine reacting like mercury Races through repairs to sensory And begs for more Just one O. K I’ll give it up tomorrow On the window sill A Robin sings it’s welcome song Whistling now I grab my coat Collar turned against the crisp Chill of a day to live I hurry now to catch up with My destiny Treading on with people unknown And unknowing in whitch direction The path will turn Jon Mewett Good morning folks! sounds like a case of the Monday's..lol. This is a wonderfully descriptive piece about something we can all relate to (minus the beard part..lol)!....beth You can never have too much fiction; reality can be such a bore |
