one night i went deep inside-- down into the fear. i held myself to comfort me-- but i had to get away... behind a velvet curtain door i found a little girl. she was laughing and singing-- and i wanted to join her-- but with my hands i couldnt touch her... locked behind a broken door was an empty picture frame. the glass was shattered into grains of sand in the middle of the empty room. hopes and dreams fell from my eyes flowing from my heart, and lonliness overtook me as death shivered through my soul... i ran away... i ran until i found a space quiet and yet unfilled and i stayed a while to listen to the rhythm of my heart beating softly in the stillness yet bold and ever-present... when i regained my wandering i sought a new direction; i found a room which had no doors there were no lights but there was brightness there was no color but there was hue; a black and white rainbow being filled speck by speck with wonderous color making its way to the golden pot-- the future. then a breeze brushed through and lifted my feet so i closed my eyes and rested my head as i drifted far away... when i awoke i found that i'd been lifted to the outside--the outside of my soul; the day that i'd been given yet to live... and so i live. -dgvarner "Half of what i say is meaningless; but i say it so that the other half may reach you." -Kahlil Gibran |

Did you find yourself alone and trapped perhaps sometime ago...The picture and broken door so vivid, did you live there? Maybe not but I felt so deep a depression that trully saddens, I was very glad you found such a wonderous room and that you floated from your soul and were granted a day to trully live. |

wob: i lived there in my mind--this was me taking a trip in my mind..sitting and thinking..and it took me 6 mths to write it down in this fashion..(it became a finished product in '92!)..its a poetic look at different spaces in my life..the broken locked door with the broken picture frame--the death..was about my father who died when i was 16..theres more to that, but that was the death that affected me so, at that time in my mind trip.. thank you for reading..i really enjoyed your reply dg "Half of what i say is meaningless; but i say it so that the other half may reach you." -Kahlil Gibran |

Dee, spoken with real feeling. Testimony to how great your writing is, or as the saying is the proof of the pudding. Well there is the proof! Such a gift! Ovations, cheers, and bouquets by the van load! |
