Oh graceful land I've never seen Your gentle hills of rolling green Oh lovely land before me spread Those cobbled paths I long to tread. Your peaceful pastures - so serene I yearn to see that tranquil scene Your dew-kist meadows - clover fills Your sandstone castles - my heart stills. And on my mind will ever be Your rising cliffs, your misty shore Oh Emerald Isle on the sea You'll call to me forevermore. Oh charming land of leprechauns The 'pot-O-gold', the Blarney Stone Oh Isle of green - my heart you own At end of day and when it dawns. Oh graceful land I've never seen Your cobbled paths I long to tread Oh lovely land before me spread Those gentle hills of rolling green. Oh Emerald Isle on the sea Yes, even still, you call to me Oh Emerald jewel of the sea Yes, even still, you beckon me. Denise, this is gorgeous...so beautifully full of imagery...I feel like I actually went there! thanks I needed a vacation.(smile) In the time we've known That we each are a part of one another We've lost as much as we have won... And as our lives have grown We have found that it only brings us pain To hang on to the things that we have done... ***Still I love the times you've come*** Jackson Browne |

Denise, this is beautiful. You took me all the way to this beautiful country Ireland. Maybe we should go together some day and see if we can find a leprechaun and kiss the Blarney Stone. [This message has been edited by Munda (edited 02-14-2000).] |

Thank you Janet Marie and Munda for reading and commenting!! I'd really love to see this place someday....but Munda, you really don't want to kiss the Blarney Stone. I've heard that the local hooligans do unhygienic things to it But I wouldn't mind hanging out with a few leprechauns Denise |

You beat me to the post, X Angel! You might not want to kiss that Blarney Stone if I tell you what I've heard about it! But the pubs sure sound like a plan to me!! I'm glad you liked this! Denise |

Thank you, Athas! I'm glad you enjoyed it! My father, sister and her family went there for two weeks in June, 1995. It rained only once the entire time! All the locals were remarking on this extraordinary weather! I personally believe that God had a hand in this for my Dad's sake. It was his first and only visit to the land of his grandparents. I'm very happy that he got the chance to go and have a wonderful time! I doubt that I will actually get their due to the cost and the six hour flight (I have a really bad fear of flying) but I can see all the beautiful pictures that were taken while my family was there! Thanks again for reading and commenting! |

I love the imagery. I recently took a trip to Scotland, (and although the Irish and Scottish are always feuding don`t hold it against me), and the way you descibe Ireland is extremely close to the way I think of Scotland. So let`s just say I completely agree with you and I look forward to reading more! |
