The bedroom was small, but it didn't seem that way to me, When you are 5 or 6, the world and things, are as big as you want them to be. I sat there on that big bed, playing with my cat, happy as could be, No one in that room, or house, could know what they were about to see. Kids do strange things, no one knows what is in their little head, I am sure the wheels were spinning fast, as I sat upon the bed. As I watched my brother take off his shirt, his back looked awful wide, Now that cat didn't know, no one but I really knew, he was in for a wild ride. What made me do it? I can't explain, I never knew what came over me, I do remember that what took place, was as funny a sight as you could want to see. When I threw that cat at my brothers back, he just stuck, like a fly to glue, He had twenty claws, and they were all in deep, that's all that old cat could do. This took place over 65 years ago, but I can still see the scene real well, And though it was funny to only me, it's a story I love to tell. Now big brother screamed, I can still see him as he ran through that door, I was laughing so hard, I almost fell off the bed onto the floor. Fun time was short however, Mother did know how to deliver a licking, And it was just a short moment before I was screaming, bawling and kicking. As I think of this, and I have many times over the years, the pain I got is gone, But the sight of brother running through that door, that cat stuck to his back, lives on. |

Welcome back Bill - missed you. This is so funny - although I'm sure, at the time, not to your brother. You painted a pretty vivid picture with your words. Reminded me of my own childhood tormenting! |
