If you're fearful for your daughter, just give her an older brother. He will watch her like a hawk, forevermore. If the job's too big for one, she's still having too much fun, then do like Mom and Dad did; give her four. I used to cry and wonder why, when I met a special guy, he came to the house to call and that was all. I just simply couldn't figure, when he'd seemed so very eager, he'd look at his watch and murmur, "Goodby all." Then one day I met the one, who I thought had set the sun, and I knew if this one left, I'd be bereft. But he just up and stayed and he said we should be wed, now I'd not be an old maid forevermore. I learned after I was married, why those fellows never tarried; why they couldn't wait to leave and close the door. Those guys were scared you see, they were given the third degree, by brother after brother after brother after brother. But this one they couldn't scare, took them up on every dare, and told each one of them I'll see her more. The young fellow they approved, was the one I truly loved, so I guess I will forgive them, after all. by joyce 04/07/01 [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (edited 04-09-2001).] |

Nicely done. I liked this. It was a very fun read. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

Thank you both,. I had 4 older brothers and they were very protective, even though I might have exaggerated a little. Joyce |

I'll bet you didn't exaggerate much....I had wished for an older brother...but I ended up being the oldest of three....so all was left to me! |

Joyce: This is light-hearted and clever. Fun to read. I envy you having brothers. I always wanted one, but I was oldest of four girls. Betty Lou Hebert |
